VB POLYFEST 2019
AUGUST 2ND & 3RD

People in the Hampton Roads area will be gearing up for what has grown to become the largest Polynesian festival on the East Coast.  There will be many performances and activities, as well as vendors making "onolicious grinds" and selling island arts and crafts.  Groups travel from northern Virginia, North Carolina, and even Florida to perform over the two-day period.

Talofa,

We’ve been blessed with another successful PIVA’s VBPolyfest this year. It is only proper that we should return all the thanks and praises to our Divine Father.
On behalf of PIVA, the officers and I would like to thank all our families and friends that were able to attend this year’s festival. Your continuous love and support allows us to host this beautiful event. We are taking this opportunity to apologize if we have offended or in some way made things unpleasant to anyone or group. We sincerely ask your forgiveness and seek your support.

To our families of performers, a very big faafetai and faamalo to all of you. We're now joined by our third generation of performers. Whether it was with our dances, or the sounds of our voices, beats and music, our love and dedication shined brightly. Simply put, VBPolyfest is for our future generations. It’s the closest thing connecting our children physically to our Islands. They should be able to witness it with all their senses to harness their cultures with full conviction. May God continue His love and blessing to all of you for your support.

Special thanks are in order, to our sisters and brothers that traveled from North Carolina and Maryland. We prayed that everyone made it back home safely. Our appreciation also goes out to the strong support groups- the parents. Thank you for your steadfast dedication for our children. Also, to our countless volunteers, from our local Military personnel who provided security to our First Aid Station by The Philippine Nurses Assn. of Virginia; Mahalo to all of you.

Our vendors and sponsors, thank-you. The City of Virginia Beach made numerous changes to the applications and rules regarding the boardwalk. Our fee increases for Food vending was a direct reflection of those changes. The majority of the vendors were great and adapted with the changes. We would like to say thank you again, for your continuous support.

Finally, we- PIVA acknowledges that mere words cannot even begin to express our sense of pride and gratitude. Our Pacific Islands cultures came alive front and center last weekend, witnessed and heard beyond our reach, an experience that will be forever etched in the hearts and minds of our gathered people at VBPolyfest 2018. I would like to say welcome to our new members and a BIG faamalo to all our members, especially those who stayed solid on both days. God bless and we’ll see y’all next year at PIVA’s VBPolyfest 2019. CheeHOOO!!!

Faafetai lava, Soifua
